MassHope2010 Has Concluded!

We have done it!

The state legislators have voted. Nearly 90% of the language in the amendments were removed.
They took away the 1-800-Hotline, the in-state tuition ban, the agreement between the Attorney General and ICE to increase excessive enforcement of immigration laws and anything else that took the law too far.

What they kept was anything that was already practiced. No provisions were extreme and the overall message is no longer anti-immigrant. Click here for a detailed explanation of what is in the budget.

This is a sign of major progress for our organization.

We have worked together with others to fight these amendments, and collectively, our power was greater than the forces of the opposition.

I wanted to thank you for all of your support.

This could not have happened without you and is proof of the difference you can make.

MassHope2010 has concluded as of 2PM Friday, June 25th.

However, the work has just begun. Thousands are still getting deported and many students are being forced to put their lives on hold because there is no real reform.

We have shown what we can do when we rally around something, and we have strengthened new and old bonds to other organizations to make change.

We are all united in this struggle. We can succeed.

Will you join us? Will you take part of this moving train with increasing momentum?

Let us know.

We are planning our next steps and would like your continued input and support.

Please contact Jose Palma at 781-244-3357 for more information on how you can help.

Again, thank you for your continued support. This has been an amazing time.We have made history and will continue to do so with your help.

Sincerely,

Deivid Ribeiro
