This Saturday I went to a breakfast in which the Governor Deval Patrick would be attending. This event took place at the beautiful house of Bill Wasserman. This was very casual event in which the Governor thanked many of the attendees for their support and contribution to his campaign. It’s incredible to me that all of a sudden I am being invited to events with so many important people, but this also speaks to the necessity of bringing to light the injustice that is happening to me, Vinny and so many other students. So I am very grateful to Mr. Purinton for having invited me to this event so that the Governor can see that this is happening to real people, right here in Massachusetts.
So I met the governor and he gracefully listened to my story and he was very sympathetic to my cause, and he said that he would do what he can in order to help me. I appreciate that and I hope that we can work together in the coming weeks in stopping the deportation of Vinny and I. Mr. Purinton also invited Deivid Ribeiro, a good friend of mine and a member of SIM, in order to talk to the Governor about in-state-tuition for undocumented students. In-state-tuition is another campaign SIM has undertaken, that aims to grant all residents of Massachusetts access to education regardless of their legal status.
